A little of this, a lil of that

Yesterday happened to be the hottest day of the summer. It also happened to be the unfortunate day we decided to head to DC with two other couples to tour a bit and to go to Toby's Dinner Theatre in the eve.

The day itself wasn't bad -- had it not been for Triple H, the entire day would have been a blast!

We started the morning touring the National Cathedral. It was amazing, that place. The feeling of history as you step within those walls is breathtaking. The stained glass windows wink down at you as jewels once the sun hits them. We walked up to the top and stared down at a beautiful DC that hid the little uglies of the city -- like the trash, and the homeless.

From there we went to the old post office for lunch and a quick tour to the top of the building, which is 9 stories high. At the end of that hike, (we gamely took the stairs for the last several flights) Triple H got to me and I had to use my inhaler. Sooo much fun!

Anyway, we finished the afternoon looking at different Hotels because come November, the six of us will be chaperones for the sr class trip to DC and our fearless leader wanted to find better accomodations. Somewhere about this time we had a call from my daughters, that a terrible storm had blown through and we lost a few branches off some trees. Yay. Yard clean up tomorrow. Thank goodness everyone was ok.

We finished our trip at Toby's, for the production of "Grease", which was fabulous. If you've never seen a theatre in the round, it is a unique experience and one I highly recommend.
